Soft bits for horses

For more than three years, we have been carrying out intensive observations and tests, which have finally enabled us to design our gel bit systems. During that time, we tested our ideas on hundreds of horses and riders of varying levels of training and experience.

This large group, including professional riders, amateur riders and recreational riders, helped us to draw the right conclusions. We have thus created a gel that is well accepted by our test horses and does not deteriorate under the effect of teeth. Many tester riders have found that horses chew their bits more willingly during work and yield more quickly without running away from the mouthpiece. The horses then got into control more quickly and worked with a frank and stable contact, which made for a more efficient and relaxed training session.

Winderen bit - safe for the horse

The synthetic gel used in Winderen mouthpieces has been fully tested and found to be safe for horses. It has FDA certification, which is internationally recognized as proof of high standards, quality and safety. This therefore means that your horse can chew his Winderen bit without danger and without side effects.

Resistant to chewing damage

A big challenge during the development phase was to create a bit that was both soft and comfortable for the horse, but also strong enough to withstand chewing movements. After many tries, we finally succeeded. Horses like to chew on the soft structure of the gel. However, it is extremely resistant to the action of chewing.

We have carried out numerous tests with horses which, to the chagrin of their owners, quickly damaged the most diverse synthetic mouthpieces. These horses could not overcome the Winderen gel bit. We've even let dogs chew it to make sure it's sturdy. Indeed, as carnivores, dogs have much sharper teeth and a much more powerful jaw than horses. The results obtained by the Winderen bits have proven to be more than satisfactory* ;-)
